i went hiking today and i am drained out by the sun. i swear, it just stole all of my energy and it's laughing at me right now. so because of that, and because i haven't been inspired to blog about anything going on in my life right now...

the one about the picture wall.

so a couple days ago i decided that i was going to fill up my wall with cool pictures of my life thus far. i had a mental picture of what it would look like in my head and i was determined to get it, so... i went to a couple local stores and bought about 8 picture frames and as i was checking out, i realized how expensive this was going to be. the pictures alone came out to $30 and i'm not even half way done! i'm super excited though so it's okay. plus, i have so much free time, this takes up most of it.

my dad came to my rescue tonight and hung up my pictures for me because i am a lost cause when it comes to using tools and leveling things - i'm all about a hammering a nail wherever and hanging up a picture however the nail allows it.

so for your viewing pleasure, here are a couple pictures that show the progress we made tonight...

i can't wait to see the finished product! i'm already a little obsessed, i have my usb ready and full of new pictures i want to go print out and put up.

any of my readers doing any fun spring arts and crafts? or do any of you have a wall in your home dedicated to frames and pictures? tips are so welcome! i'll keep y'all posted on my walls progress :)

books and flowers

it's monday, the start of a new week and the first day of reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. i have a thing with having to read the book before i watch the movie and i've been slacking in my book-worm ways, so i decided to start back up with this book - mostly because i keep seeing the title pop up on my OnDemand menu. i also made a reading list which include, of course, The Hunger Games and The Secret. i'm always looking for some new books to read, too! so if you have any suggestions, feel free to throw them my way.

does anyone else find it like a million times more relaxing to read outdoors? especially on warm sunny days? i absolutely love to do this, even more-so because the weather is perfect - i hope i didn't just jinx it.  the only downside to that is that the sun tends to drain out my energy and i completely lose track of time when i'm reading, so before i know it, i'm hurting for a nap. my life is just so hard sometimes, haha.

something else i want to share with you guys is how much i love spring because my favorite tree blooms and the flowers on it look absolutely beautiful. 

thank god i don't have allergies, i'm able to enjoy these beauties without any consequences. however, if you have allergies, this is why i take close up pictures of my flowers, so it's a win-win for everyone.

when is labor day, anyway?

so many people have told me "you can't wear white pants after labor day" and you know what i do? i laugh at those people. that's right, i look them square in the eyes and laugh. nobody is going to tell me when i can or can't wear my white pants, i'm way too obsessed with them. plus, they go with absolutely everything! shame on you if you're one of those people who try to take my happiness away.

this is for the girls who rock their white pants during any season of the year, while your drinking red wine, and sitting on a public chair, under a sky of pigeons that are ready to use anything as target practice. you are all fearless.

Hello Spring! BUH BYE Winter.

is that the sun i see peeping out? because if it is, i love you and want you to stay! 

i have been so miserable in the cold weather that albuquerque has to offer. i have been (not so) patiently waiting for this warm blanket of sunshine to come out and play! i must admit, i do have a love/hate relationship with the sun - in albuquerque, temperatures get up to the high 90s - but after spending the last few months in nothing but gloom and snow, the sun couldn't come fast enough!

every time i see pictures of spring time i make a mental list of everything i can't wait to do. for example, let me show you and let you in to how my brain works...

i want this dress. white looks so spring-y. i have to go shopping. maybe i should color my hair light brown?

another white dress. i have to go buy one. that brown bag is cute. i wonder if there are any meadows like this near my house. 

those pants! those shoes! that blazer! i can't wait to wear these colors again. teal is so beautiful. i should buy more teal clothes. she's so skinny. i have to go work out. buy a membership.

i have to tan. and work out again. that puppy is adorable. why am i not tan? no light brown hair, i'm keeping it black. i want to go to the beach, or the lake. i need water.

...and that's pretty much how my brain processes these spring pictures. i have a mental list of everything i have to do now and i'm a little crazy. plus, my wallet is bulimic so that doesn't help.
