i'm awkward and awesome

awkward -

-the fact that my pitbull just farted in her sleep and her butt is pretty much up against my leg.
-my dress blew up while i was leaving a store earlier today
-i ate a whole mess of random things and i'm still starving




awesome - 

-i made the spring/easter decor eggs that Burlap&Buttons inspired me to do!!
-i found a popsicle in my freezer that i didn't know was there - and ate it, and it was sooo good.
-my hair and make up turned out fabulous today, and that rarely ever happens!
-my best friend called me to tell me she was engaged!! i'm so beyond excited for this!
-my birthday is 11 days away
-i love the way my nail tech did my french tips aaaand i was able to get my promise ring cleaned at the jewelers :)

okay, so i was blog hopping around and i found this adorable little blog called Burlap&Buttons and i was instantly inspired. it was like the heavens opened up and a light was shining onto my laptop screen at these adorable easter eggs that i want to make this weekend. i love arts and crafts time so i'm either going to drag my moto into doing this with me or i'm dragging moto's sister into doing this with me. plus, it will be a cute gift to give moto's parents for easter and a cute centerpiece for my place, too!

the one about the picture wall.

so a couple days ago i decided that i was going to fill up my wall with cool pictures of my life thus far. i had a mental picture of what it would look like in my head and i was determined to get it, so... i went to a couple local stores and bought about 8 picture frames and as i was checking out, i realized how expensive this was going to be. the pictures alone came out to $30 and i'm not even half way done! i'm super excited though so it's okay. plus, i have so much free time, this takes up most of it.

my dad came to my rescue tonight and hung up my pictures for me because i am a lost cause when it comes to using tools and leveling things - i'm all about a hammering a nail wherever and hanging up a picture however the nail allows it.

so for your viewing pleasure, here are a couple pictures that show the progress we made tonight...

i can't wait to see the finished product! i'm already a little obsessed, i have my usb ready and full of new pictures i want to go print out and put up.

books and flowers

it's monday, the start of a new week and the first day of reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. i have a thing with having to read the book before i watch the movie and i've been slacking in my book-worm ways, so i decided to start back up with this book - mostly because i keep seeing the title pop up on my OnDemand menu. i also made a reading list which include, of course, The Hunger Games and The Secret. i'm always looking for some new books to read, too! so if you have any suggestions, feel free to throw them my way.

does anyone else find it like a million times more relaxing to read outdoors? especially on warm sunny days? i absolutely love to do this, even more-so because the weather is perfect - i hope i didn't just jinx it.  the only downside to that is that the sun tends to drain out my energy and i completely lose track of time when i'm reading, so before i know it, i'm hurting for a nap. my life is just so hard sometimes, haha.

something else i want to share with you guys is how much i love spring because my favorite tree blooms and the flowers on it look absolutely beautiful. 

thank god i don't have allergies, i'm able to enjoy these beauties without any consequences. however, if you have allergies, this is why i take close up pictures of my flowers, so it's a win-win for everyone.

Lab overload

okay, so a little about me, i'm a crazy dog lady. well, not super super crazy, i'm just mostly really into labs. moto and i have been contemplating adopting a lab puppy as a love child. i've been telling him i want one for the longest time and he's been telling me that we would need a house of our own first. if you're anything like me, you don't want to hear anything negative, you just want what you want. so i dedicated this post to the thing i want most... a lab puppy. 

and that last picture will be our wedding picture :)

time for introductions

so, i think it's time to let y'all in on who moto is because he's a big part of my life and i'll be writing about him more and more. 


so when i started this blog, i was dating my ex, but what you don't know is that i was dating moto before him. see, we haven't always had smooth sails - actually it's been one heck of a rollercoaster, but one thing that has never changed is how much we want to make 'us' work. i'm a huge believer that if two people who have broken up still have hope that they can make it work, then they should try until they can't anymore. i'm so happy that even through everything, moto and i still have the same love for each other. 


this is by no means a fairytale love story where guy meets girl, girl falls in love, they live happily ever after. our story has a little more nooks and grooves than just that, but nonetheless... here we are, three years later and still madly in love with each other. 


i know it sounds so cliche to say that your man makes you laugh and thats why you love him, but it's true! moto is constantly making me laugh. he always has something to say about everything and that's one of the things that made me fall in love with him. he is also so easy to talk to, he makes me feel comfortable to where i can just open up completely and before i know it, i have a handful of tissue and i'm sitting on the couch pouring out my heart to him. 


i have always told myself that i would be so lucky to end up with my best friend, but the truth is, i'm luckier to have found moto and, throughout our relationship, find a best friend in him. sorry for sounding so cheesy.

when is labor day, anyway?

so many people have told me "you can't wear white pants after labor day" and you know what i do? i laugh at those people. that's right, i look them square in the eyes and laugh. nobody is going to tell me when i can or can't wear my white pants, i'm way too obsessed with them. plus, they go with absolutely everything! shame on you if you're one of those people who try to take my happiness away.

this is for the girls who rock their white pants during any season of the year, while your drinking red wine, and sitting on a public chair, under a sky of pigeons that are ready to use anything as target practice. you are all fearless.

Hello Spring! BUH BYE Winter.

is that the sun i see peeping out? because if it is, i love you and want you to stay! 

i have been so miserable in the cold weather that albuquerque has to offer. i have been (not so) patiently waiting for this warm blanket of sunshine to come out and play! i must admit, i do have a love/hate relationship with the sun - in albuquerque, temperatures get up to the high 90s - but after spending the last few months in nothing but gloom and snow, the sun couldn't come fast enough!

every time i see pictures of spring time i make a mental list of everything i can't wait to do. for example, let me show you and let you in to how my brain works...

i want this dress. white looks so spring-y. i have to go shopping. maybe i should color my hair light brown?

another white dress. i have to go buy one. that brown bag is cute. i wonder if there are any meadows like this near my house. 

those pants! those shoes! that blazer! i can't wait to wear these colors again. teal is so beautiful. i should buy more teal clothes. she's so skinny. i have to go work out. buy a membership.

i have to tan. and work out again. that puppy is adorable. why am i not tan? no light brown hair, i'm keeping it black. i want to go to the beach, or the lake. i need water.

...and that's pretty much how my brain processes these spring pictures. i have a mental list of everything i have to do now and i'm a little crazy. plus, my wallet is bulimic so that doesn't help.

puppy fever

so this last weekend i went back home to san diego. usually i'd write about all the cool clubs i went to and how fun it was seeing my friends BUT i have something more important to tell you...


my little sister bought a puppy! a cute 6 week old golden labrador. okay, let me just begin by saying that if it was up to me, i'd build a farm full of puppies and that would keep me happy for the rest of my life. i'm a huge dog lover, so for my sister to buy a puppy instantly put me in heaven. yes, i still went out to bars and had such a blast with my friends that i hadn't seen in quite some time, but i was more excited about this dog. 

she's such a little beauty and i can't wait to see pictures of her as she grows up. labs are my absolute favorite dog (i've had every color of lab in my lifetime) so it brought back memories seeing this little one. her name is penny, she has bright blue eyes and yes, she has puppy breath. this post alone is making me miss her. any of my followers or readers dog crazy like me? which breed is your favorite?

Hey there, March!

How is it possible that it's already the middle of March? I feel like this month just started and it's already halfway over. Clearly my sense of time is a little mixed up, especially with the new time change. I'm still getting used to it but I have to admit - I'm really enjoying being able to watch the sunset at 7pm now.


I've been reading around most of your blogs and I like the idea of posting at the beginning of the month, everything you look forward to. So since I'm back in action, I figured better late than never - right? I think this will also serve as a check-off list incase I forget anything! So these are a few things I'm looking forward to in March...

the sun finally coming out - tanning my life away - pool parties - being able to wear my shorts - losing more weight - wearing bright colors - fishing - camping - watching more supercross - drinking green beer - spring break - keeping up with my blog - taking a ton of pictures - playing basketball - playing sand volleyball - playing pretty much anything that's fun and exciting - enjoying my life - finding a new job - soaking up the sun - and spending much more quality time with my boyfriend, moto

I can't wait to start blogging again, I need an outlet and I'm excited for what March has to offer me!
